Mayor Cornett to speak at third annual Leadership Summit

Mayor Mick Cornett, Oklahoma City, will be featured at the third annual regional Leadership Summit, hosted by Central Rural Electric Cooperative. The summit will be in Stillwater, Okla., on Dec. 7 at the Wes Watkins Center on Oklahoma State University’s campus.

Cornett became Oklahoma City’s 35th mayor in 2004, and is the fourth mayor in Oklahoma City’s history to be elected to a third term. Cornett has been at the forefront of the Oklahoma City renaissance, setting forth a vision that the people of Oklahoma City have embraced. Cornett will share how he has motivated Oklahoma City to become a city that, as Cornett says, “works hard and dreams big.”

The Leadership Summit is a one-day regional leadership conference designed to empower leaders with the skills and tools needed to achieve their respective goals. The summit will help leaders increase the effectiveness of their leadership abilities.

“Our nation is quickly changing and presenting leaders with the difficult task of confronting new challenges,” said David Swank, CEO of CREC. “The Leadership Summit is designed to help leaders begin to rethink traditional paradigms and create new solutions to combat these growing contrasts.”

The summit, themed “Rethink,” begins with a luncheon at 11:30 a.m., followed by breakout sessions in the afternoon. Registration will be available soon at www.leadershipsource.coop.
