CREC receives $10,000 grant for 2010 Leadership Summit

Central Rural Electric Cooperative recently received a $10,000 grant from the Farm Credit System’s Douglas D. Sims Foundation for Rural Leadership for the 2010 Leadership Summit.

This fund, created in honor of CoBank’s former CEO Douglas D. Sims, supports programs that focus on rural leadership development, with a special emphasis on those committed to making their communities better places to live.

CREC will use the $10,000 grant for the 2010 regional Leadership Summit to help keep costs low for those who attend. The Leadership Summit is a one-day regional leadership conference designed to empower leaders with the skills and tools needed to achieve their respective goals. The summit will help leaders increase the effectiveness of their leadership abilities.

The Leadership Summit will be Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at the Wes Watkins Center on Oklahoma State University’s campus. Oklahoma City’s Mayor Mick Cornett will be featured as the keynote speaker. For more information, please visit www.leadershipsource.coop.
